Ann Cathrin Riedel studied Islamic studies, politics and economics. She is chairwoman of LOAD eV – Verein für Liberale Netzpolitik (Association for Liberal Internet Policy) and vice-president of the European Society for Digital Sovereignty eV As manager at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, she studies digitalization and innovation at the global level. She was a lecturer at Hochschule Fresenius, University of Applied Sciences, Düsseldorf, and the journal “Politik & Kommunikation” included her in the “65 faces of the future under the age of 35” in the field of political consultancy and expertise. She is a member of the working groups “Ethics of Digitalization” and “Monitoring of Algorithms” of Initiative D21.
Ann Cathrin accompanies the work of Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum IT-Wirtschaft and the Co: Lab – Thinking Laboratory & Collaboration Platform for Society & Digitization eV as a member of the advisory board. In these various roles, she lectures regularly about ethics and civil rights, freedom of opinion and digital communication as well as digital sovereignty.
