Dr Stefan Ullrich is an informatician with a minor degree in Philosophy who was doing research at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society Berlin while this text was being written. He is currently helping to set up the KI-Ideenwerkstatt – AI Commons Lab and Platform for Social Innovation in Berlin for the German Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUV). He is Co-Chair of the Commission for Ethics in Research at the Technical University Berlin. From 2011 to 2019, he was spokesperson for the specialist group “Informatics and Ethics” of the German Informatics Society. In 2019, he was appointed as member of the Expert Commission for the Third Gender Equality Report of the German Federal Government. He lives, researches, tinkers, and teaches in Berlin.
